Jung Hai-yun : ウィキペディア英語版 | Jung Hai-yun
Jung Hai-yun (born 1972) is a South Korean painter. She is known for exploring a new approach to East Asian painting. Using traditional Korean watercolor paint and thick mulberry paper, Jung paints repetitive images of drawers connected by threads. As a child, fascinated by the existence and purpose of objects on her desk, she began to classify objects in its place according to the role and usage. Ever since, drawers have become a search for the meaning of the individual and the whole and an extension of the artist’s thoughts. For the artist, drawers represent a collection of stored memories as well as a micro-universe of relations. On a cosmic level, the drawers represent separate planets or stars with threads that connect to form constellations. Independent drawers combine to form a harmonious whole like human relationships or a flock of chickadees, a motif commonly featured in her paintings. ==External links==
